C’mon down to The Coffee House on Saturday, January 24th at 7:00 PM where the “Times They will be a Changing". We will be playing and singing songs of protest and social significance.
Break out your Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan songbooks. Dig deep into your memory for songs from Peter, Paul & Mary; the Beatles, Steve Earle, Bob Marley and Phil Ochs. And don’t forget Merle Haggard! We will want to hear classic statements of belief and/or protest as well as new songs - especially original ones. This event will help to “Carry On” the “Chimes of Freedom”.
Everybody will be coming to this event: Tin Solders and Nixon are coming; Okies from Muskogee and we, the people will be there.
It will be nice and warm inside The Coffee House even if “A Hard Rain (or snows) a-Gonna Fall” outside on the streets of Burlington.
So don’t stay at home wondering “where have all the flowers gone” or working on “Maggie’s Farm". Hop into a “Big Yellow Taxi” and bring your “hammer of justice, your bell of freedom and especially yours songs about the love between your brothers and sisters” to the Coffeehouse at Chestnut and Pine on Saturday, January 24th between 7:00 and 10:00 PM. See you there. PEACE
Musicians’ please send your 2-3 songs to the “Fortunate Son", Jeff Peterson at Peterson4@Genevaonline.com to reserve your spot on the show!
