Tall Tales

Burlington, WI – Run Run Bebop and The Coffee House at Chestnut & Pine are pleased to announce the third annual Tall Tales Music Festival will be held August 14-15 in downtown Burlington, WI. Celebrating the art of storytelling through music, the festival will feature national touring artists, homegrown Wisconsin talent, and a full weekend of free music workshops for children.

According to festival co-founder Patrick Sullivan, “The community has spoken, and we’re thrilled they want us back for year three. Tall Tales has quickly gained a reputation as a unique showcase for emerging artists, and we remain singularly focused on improving the experience for both the artist and festival-goer this year. The opportunity to showcase downtown Burlington and its burgeoning arts scene is a great source of pride, which we share with all of the volunteers and sponsors who have given so generously to make this event possible.”

The first phase of the lineup is set, and will include national touring artists Steelism (Nashville, TN), and Kristin Diable (New Orleans, LA). Joining them will be a group of Wisconsin-based artists, including Hayward Williams and Anna Vogelzang. Additional lineup announcements, including the festival headliner, will be made in the weeks ahead.

The free music workshops will offer something for kids of all ages, from toddler to teenager. The workshops sessions will culminate with a performance by Madison-based children’s performer Duke Otherwise.

To get the community in the festival spirit, The Coffee House at Chestnut & Pine will host a kick-off party on Saturday, August 1. Slated to headline the event is Anderson East, whose gritty take on the classic soul sounds that came out of Muscle Shoals, Alabama in the 1960s has quickly won him national acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Opening for East will be Wisconsin native Simon Balto, a singer of folk and alt-country songs.

Tall Tales Music Festival is funded with support from Music Matters, a local non-profit organization founded to promote and support youth music programming.
